Mild hesitation here!
Doing a great job!
Are we done yet?
Can you please stop taking my picture!
Hunter had his first visit to the dentist today! He did SO good! I, of course, spent the day before telling him various things about his upcoming visit so that there would be few surprises. (He's like his mother and wants to know what to expect!) So, we get there and he was all smiles and talking up a storm until they called his name. Suddenly he became very shy and you could tell the blood pressure was sky-rocketing!! She got him in the chair and was asking him how many teeth he had. He began counting them for her. Too cute. Then she had him lay back in the chair and she took out the little mirror to look around in his mouth. He was very cooperative at this point. THEN...she said it was time to count his teeth. As soon he saw the pointy tools, he had a look of fear on his face!! He gave a teeth grinding smile and wouldn't budge. She asked him to open his mouth so that she could count his teeth....he said NO THANK YOU! (At least he was polite about it.) After a few minute struggle I suggested that she count my teeth so that he could see that the tools would not hurt him. It was smooth sailing after that. He wasn't afraid of anything. I LOVE the cautiousness that Hunter displays with everything. He would rather observe to make sure he is safe and then he is very cooperative with whatever you want.
The dentist said that he had beautiful teeth...a little close together, which may cause problems in the future, but they looked good!
